Accommodation
Within the guesthouse, we have two guest suites, accommodating four people in total. Each suite consists of a bedroom (queen-size or single beds) with fireplace (very romantic in the winter months!!), private lounge with tea/coffee-making facilities and bar fridge and a Victorian-style en suite shower room. A small hairdryer is also provided.
The suites are tastefully furnished with a mixture of antique furniture, highly quality fittings and unique decorative items. All of which add up to an atmosphere of elegance and comfort – paying homage to the age of the building, whilst offering all the
convenience and comfort of the modern world.
Then, there are the two self catering cottages – situated only 5 minutes walk from the guesthouse, these are charming and self contained, with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Pets are welcome and families with young children will be able to relax whilst the children have the freedom to run around and play.
Both cottages are equipped with a microwave and stove, crockery, cutlery and all the normal kitchen utensils. Bedlinen and towels are provided.
Both have been the subject of considerable renovation and upgrading in 2010.
Plum CottageThis is a bright, airy and spacious cottage, which has been designed to fit in beautifully with its much older cousins. This thatched and whitewashed cottage can sleep up to 5 (1 queen-size bed, 1 double sofa bed and 1 single "day" bed). The comfortably furnished open-plan lounge is centred around a large fireplace, which keeps the place cosy during those chilly winter evenings. There is also a well-equipped and spacious kitchen/dining area, a large full bathroom (including separate shower) and an attractive main bedroom with thatched open ceiling. The stoep area is very private with its own built-in braai, whilst still having a wonderful view of the McGregor sign and the surrounding countryside.
Almond Cottage For those of you interested in history, this is a MUST – a quaint and very rustic historic building, with the typically McGregor thatched and whitewashed exterior, as well as the traditional reeded ceilings within. This cottage will sleep up to 4 people (1 double and 2 singles). The main (double) bedroom has an en suite shower and there is also a separate bathroom. The twin bedroom is in the loft room under the thatch. There is a cosy open-plan lounge, with a small fireplace, as well as a kitchen/dining area. For those relaxed, warm McGregor evenings, the cottage has its own built-in braai and a spacious stoep for you to sit and enjoy a starry McGregor nights with a glass of local wine.

Breakfast at the guesthouse is served on the vine-covered stoep (weather permitting), or the Guest Dining Area (on colder days). There is a choice of full English or Dutch-style (a selection of cold meats and cheeses) breakfast. In addition, we are happy to cater to any dietary requirements if given prior notice. We have a lovely built-in braai and entertainment area, which guests are welcome to use, as well as wireless internet/e-mail facilities. |

There are also many places to sit in this walled “secret” garden, where guests can just relax, watch the birds playing in the fountains and just drink in the atmosphere of tranquillity. |
