McGregor Luxury Accommodation at Fountain Place Guesthouse… Nice things to know…
Fountain Place offers superior McGregor luxury accommodation in the form of two guest suites, with their own private entrances, accommodating four adults in total (we do not accommodate children). Each suite consists of a bedroom with queen-size bed (single beds can be provided, by advance request, in one suite) and a fireplace (very romantic in the winter months!) for which wood & lighters are provided, a private lounge with tea/coffee-making facilities and a room fridge with a complimentary bottle of water per person for the first night (bring your own wine and beer) plus an en-suite bathroom with rain shower. Persian rugs feature in both the bedrooms and the private lounges. Fluffy, white towels and facecloths are provided plus complimentary toiletries, fragranced with natural Marula & Olive essential oils, for your use during your stay, as well as thoughtful extras such as cotton wool, buds and tissues. We also provide wine and water glasses in the suite. Please note that Fountain Place is for adults only, we do not accommodate children and no bikes may be taken inside the suites. Our suites are non-smoking but guests are welcome to smoke anywhere in the grounds and ashtrays are provided in the courtyard.
We have introduced a number of extra luxury touches to the rooms for your pleasure and comfort and these include cooling, all white, crisp, percale bed linen for summer and the warm, comforting embrace of brushed cotton bedlinen for winter, robes & slippers, sumptuous faux fur throws (for colder months), a carafe & crystal glasses for you to enjoy a complimentary nightcap, a chocolate each and a rusk for you to enjoy with your morning tea or coffee! A small hairdryer is provided as well as plenty of reading material in the form of quality magazines, novels and beautiful coffee table books. This is McGregor luxury accommodation at its best.
For guests staying at Fountain Place McGregor luxury accommodation, an optional breakfast is served at our tables in the vine-covered courtyard (summer months), or guests may opt for a mini continental breakfast basket, placed in their suites (winter months), to enjoy at their leisure. Our summer breakfast consists of two courses, the first course often being a ‘Fountain Place Breakfast Sundae’ which is, as the name suggests, a sundae dish delectably layered with thick, creamy, yoghurt, granola and fruit. Juices and hot drinks are provided and a plated, full cooked breakfast is served as a second course (we can provide a full continental breakfast by prior request). In addition, we will do our best to cater to any dietary requirements if given prior notice. Guests’ breakfast times are arranged on arrival and are between 8.00am – 9.30am during summertime. For guests wishing to have earlier breakfasts due to hiking or biking, etc, a picnic box breakfast can be placed in guest suite fridges.
Guests may also prefer to stroll along Voortrekker Street and enjoy breakfast in one of McGregor’s coffee shops, cafes or restaurants (see our ‘Eat & Play‘ page for info).
Optional breakfasts are at an additional cost (click on our suite information below for full details) and must be requested at time of booking.
A life of leisure…
Guests can enjoy relaxing by our pool area and taking a refreshing dip in our sparkling pool. Wi-fi is available and there are also many places to sit in this walled “secret” garden, where guests can just relax, watch the birds playing in the fountains and simply drink in the atmosphere of tranquility. Due to its intimate nature, our boutique bed and breakfast is very popular with two couples wishing to reserve both suites together.
This means they can exclusively enjoy all that Fountain Place has to offer. Guests also love to visit our library to choose a book or board game, as well as to view the photos of Fountain Place, as it has changed, over the years. Built in 1862 and a Provincial Heritage Site, we have photos going back to circa 1901.
